Cupcake Update

Most of you have seen my cupcakes that I've made the past 6 months from Facebook but I thought I'd add a page about them. Some were my nemesis like this damn yellow chick. It took me hours to do six of them and this was the only decent one to show. They didn't taste that good either. Too much frosting so of course the little ones LOVE them.

These are in my top 5 most favorite to make and best tasting. They are sooo colorful and fun to make with a homemade cream cheese frosting. They were perfect for St. Patty's day.

I took these koi cupcakes to a church bar-b-que. They disappeared real quick. Once again they were a kid favorite. I tried to have three different colors of blue and just lightly blended them but it wasn't drastic enough to get the dimension I was looking for.

The sweetest cupcakes I've made. You'll get a cavity just by eating one. S'more cupcakes! After using my cupcake core I filled them with marshmallow cream and put the tops back on.

Then frosted them with chocolate frosting and rolled them in broken graham crackers.

Put them back in the oven for about 30 sec. on broil to toast the large marshmallow on top. You really have to keep your eyes on them. The frosting will melt and start sliding off. I didn't know how else to cook the marshmallow on top since I didn't have a torch. Maybe try a candle lighter...

Summer is the season of strawberries. I'm not a huge fan of shortcake, too dense and sweet for me so I made strawberry cupcakes. I topped it with homemade cream cheese frosting which I will say is the BOMB and added slices of strawberries with glaze over. DE-LISH!!

Fruit pie cupcakes (with M&M's on top).

These are my pride and joy so far. Well these and my polar bear cupcakes. Things I would have changed for next time. I'd use salt water taffy for the stem and leaves. The tootsie rolls and Now and Laters were too hard to work with by having to melt them perfectly in the microwave to soften them up first, roll out, cut and shape. Taffy would be so easy to work with.
