Day 4 in Cabo

This morning started with a run in the sun on the beach with a fat lip (see picture) and a bruise under my lower lip (see picture) Megan and Alison came along too to see some whales but there weren't any out roaming the seas. DRATS! I met up with the girls at the pool later and we were there for about 6 hours. Yes we ran out of SPF 15.

We also met some new friends. They are here for a bachlor party and very entertaining! They love their beer!

We came back to the hotel, showered and got ready for din din. We went to Panchos just because of the name. (Megan and I hated our food but Alison's fajitas were off the hook.

We shopped for a few hours. Now were back at the hotel to powder our noses for a night of dancing.

Hasta manana!

Day 3 in Cabo

This morning I woke up and wanted to do a different run. Instead of running in town I ran along the beach. One thing I forgot to mention is that it is whale watching season right now. We are in the best weeks they're having. No lie, you walk out and you see sprays of water all along the beach. This morning when I was running I stopped a couple of times because it was truly breathtaking too see them. They are SO close. I was even able to see the entire tail as the whale dove to go back under water.

After the run back to the pool and took some fun pictures.

On my way up I checked on activites and Victor said to go ATVing they were going to leave in 15 min. I ran upstairs and asked the girls and they were in. It was so much fun. Brent our guide's name was Miguel and I thought of you. It was so pretty to be there as the sun was going down. Of course I was getting too excited and was coming down this hill that wasn't trailed. When I got to the bottom I hit a bank of sand and would have fipped over the handle bars if they didn't stop me. Instead I hit my lip on the front end and bruised my knees. So now I have a fat lip. Good story right?

Our bus driver had a sign (see picture) that is my favorite quote for the day: Look hard.

Tonight after we came home and showered we had pb & j sandwiches and doritos. YUMMY! I'm serious too. Then we came here to el Centro do Nogocios for computer access.

Day 2 in Cabo

Wednesday started with the gym. Well we got there and it consisted of a bowflex and two stationary bikes. We turned around and left. I decided to get a run in after all, it was time to get to know the city. I went for a run in Cabo Centro. It was awesome! I felt very comfortable. The piers at the marina were beautiful. It was so hot.
When I got back Allison and Megan were already at the pool. We spent about 4 hours just laying out and eating chips and salsa.
Favorite quote of the day: An older man came by and was talking to us, asking where we are from. I said CA and UT. Oh so I bet you are good little Mormon girls. Allison then replied back, and I quote, you bet your sweet ass we are.
After we agreed to make a trip to Walmart to get breakfast and lunch stuff. I know that sounds easy. Welp, it's not in a town were it's located about 10 miles from your hotel. Process of elimination. We had to take a bus to el centro of town and then we loaded up on another bus (it was packed in there standing room only for us see photo) that just drops you off on the highway across from Walmart. It was just like playing Frogger. I kid you not!

During our time at Walmart Megan comes up to me and has a piece of fruit on a toothpick and says Kellie you have to try this it's amazing. I popped it right in and just about vomited right after. It was papaya with a cajun salt on top. (I hated her for about 3 min) After the shopping trip we ended up just taking the bus to the centro and then we walked the rest of the way with our bags. Great exercise!
Got cleaned up and then we walked to dinner, Romeo and Julietta. Floyd you were right, they have amazing Italian food there. There was even a gentleman playing the piano for us.
We took a bit of a walk after.
Then we headed home.
Long day but no complaints from any of us.

We arrived

Sorry this entry is a day late. We came by to get the internet and it is down at 9pm RATS!! So for yesterday it included in two flights, getting pass the Mexican wall at the airport and a scenic 45 min drive to our hotel by Alfredo. We checked in and was completed wowed by our room and the view. This hotel is huge. I do believe it has it's own zip code. I'll have to get on the hill and take a pic of all of it. We went walking down town Cabo last night and got ourselves some YUMMY quesadillas. We then went shopping at a local market just for some breakfast stuff and walked back to the hotel. Ourside our room is a balcony and a tree to the left, you can see the little critter that was hanging out there.
Favorite quote of the day...
Driving with Alfredo he was talking about how some girls get so drunk they forget they don't have panties on and they show that off. Then he giggled. I then said umm Alfredo you're a dirty birdy. He comments quickly followed with a giggle, I know!

Here's some of yesterday's pictures

Night before Mexico

This is going to be a quick one. Last night I had a bit of a panic attack. I went to bed at 10pm but didn't fall asleep until midnight. I'm a night thinker. I finally couldn't take it and got up and wrote down a list of the things that I needed to accomplish today/tonight before heading to the airport. Then I got up at 4am to use the restroom and sure enough, laid in bed just thinking until 6am. Now that the day is done I only have two remaining items on my list. But when you think about it, it really is worth the panic attacks and shortness of breath. I mean just take a look at this place...I think it's worth it!

I have four things that I would like to do in Cabo. #1 Rent wave runners and go around these arches. #2 Get a massage on the beach (if possible) #3 Snorkel anywhere is fine with me, as long as I don't get stung by a jelly, and #4 ATVs, folks that have done this can't stop talking about it. I'm taking my laptop with me so then I can update you all on my days events and post some killer pics too

The coo-coos and crazies

Since I got some new killer meds from el doctor yesterday, today was a new day for me. I felt AWESOME!! I went to the gym after work because I knew I could get in a good workout just walking at an incline on the treadmill. I won't lie, when my favorite songs came on I bumped up the speed. I promise all you who think I'm going to run myself into the ground, I took it easy. I'm learning with age, as the pre-plastic surgery patient Kenny Rogers once said, You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away and know when to run. Real quick tangent, can we talk about Kenny? What happened to him? He was so handsome!! Hey CRAZY! Yeah Kenny I'm talking to you.
Before the surgeryAfter the surgery
Back to the gym...while I was excercising I was next to a lady that was dancing/walking to the beat of her own drum. She had on so many layers it looked like she was about to take an adventure to the Arctic. As time when on she shed her layers. (She even had Velcro pants and ripped them off like the NBA players do right before they go in after sitting on the bench) The best part was she was enjoying her music, she was actually dancing on the treadmill. The best way I can describe it is picture Elaine, from Seinfeld, dancing. Take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xi4O1yi6b0
I ran/walked and smiled the entire time.
Now don't get me wrong, I applaud her for being there. She's making a difference in her health and enjoying it too. I'm not claiming that I don't act a little coo-coo while I'm on the treadmill lip syncing every song that I listen to when I run, but dang, that was funny

Home sick

I think I've been fighting it off the past week. I've been sleeping 10-11 hours at night. I went trail running with the dogs this past Saturday. The weather was beautiful. I was feeling great and I knew it would be a great run. The problem with trails are there are always swarms of nats or mosquitoes just hanging out in the most inconvenient locations. Unfortunately, I will say there were a few times I swallowed a bug or two.
The next day I thought great I have West Nile Virus since I was feeling so yucky. Figured I got it from swallowing an infected skeeto. (Okay not really but the thought did cross my mind.) I knew it was a sinus infection and of course it going straight for my lungs. I went to the doctor's office yesterday and got some meds. (Must get better before I leave for Mexico next week!!)
Today I decided to tend to my health and take the day off. (Must get better before I leave for Mexico!!)
This will put me behind for my training but there will be other marathons I can do this year if I can't make up the difference. It's not worth the injuries.

Dang nose...

Okay so this is what happened...

I've started my training program for the San Diego Rock-N-Roll Marathon for June 1st. I had a great little short run on Monday and yesterday I headed to the gym to get my run in before the Biggest Loser came on (it's true, I love that show!). It was cooking in the gym since it was a scorching 67 degrees yesterday, loved! I was running and after the first mile I was feeling great. Listening to my ipod and decided to bump up my speed, after the second mile I bumped up the incline, then moving into the third mile I wipped my face off and noticed there was blood on my towel.
Looked straight into the mirror and sure enough had a bloody nose. I stopped running, grabbed my things and walked swiftly to the locker room where two of my friends had just finished their step classes and saw me hoovering over the sink. (I haven't had one this bad since I ran in Arizona in October.) Raeleen ran and got me a ice pack and sure enough it did the trick...it always does. Drama with the nose.

Don't you just love pictures?

Ryan you little darling! He sent this to me and my o' my I forgot all about this birthday that I made everyone wear a hat a take pictues with me. We had soooo much fun! The crew. I think this had to be something like 7 years ago.

When I was in Utah, Megan gave me some photos from my run in Arizona...this one I'm sure all will enjoy. While we were taking this photo another runner said, You know he's gay right?" Okay number one: DUH! Number two which was my comment right back at him, "Doesn't really matter I'll take him any way I can get my hands on him."

While I was in UT my friend Megan, yup her again, had agreed to take the challenge and turn me into a beauty queen. (I was so ready to chop off the hair)

This is a picture of me, goofing off, last night at Outback at a birthday party for one of my friends from my ward. There was a bunch of us there and of couse me showing off the new cut and color.

I had to include this picture! This is a friend of mine from work, Derek, whom I just adore! We all went to Wing Stop and this is what he got when he grabbed for a fry.

And she's back!

Greetings and salutations...
I'm back from snowy Utah. I lived there for four years and I honestly can say that I don't ever remember it being this intense. I took this picture after church. You can tell the amount of snow that pilled up on the cars just from the 3 hours that they were sitting there. Megan and I found out some wards cancelled church becuase it was truly THAT bad. Looking back, I think it could be that when I lived in UT it was either in Provo or Downtown SLC and both those areas are high traffic areas and they always kept it snow plowed. I never had to worry about grabbing someone to come push my car as the wheels continue to turn but the car remains at a stand still.

Well with lots of snow comes the tourists that visit UT to ski or board. YES, I was one of them. I don't think that I can explain to you the feeling of falling in powder. The snow is so dry there when you fall you don't get wet or cold because it just falls right off of you.

Although this picture is in black and white (my bad) you can tell how much fun I was having! You don't have to ski in Park City or at Sundance to get great snow. Plus it will cost you your savings account to ski or board where the celebrities go. I went night boarding with my friend Megan Bates (great full name) Saturday night and it was only $19. Then when she was at work on Monday, yesterday, I went for a half day and it was $22. I know right!!! Super cheap for killer snow! The Ogden resorts are one of the little best kept secrets out there. Shhh don't tell.
Yesterday Meg and I met up with our favorite person/people, The Muranakas (Lane we missed you). Next time!
We had a fantastic dinner at CPK and not only did I enjoy my dinner but I could not stay out of Cole's mac and cheese. Serioulsy I've never had anything better! I don't know if these three know how much I adore them. Yes Audge it was the hat that sold me. :)

I don't think I've ever walked with two little kids before that get so many stares and people with big grins or saying to each other, "Ohh they are sooo cute." I think it's because they are quite the little charmers.
This picture explains it all. This was 100% impromptu! That's what makes it so awesome!!
