Substitute Teacher Position Update

So get this...
On December 9th I was cleared from the state of California to have an emergency credential. Later that afternoon I decided to go down to Manteca Unified School District in person and find out what the hiring standard is, if there was something more they need from me, or someone I can talk to get on a waiting list etc.
I walked in and spoke to a gal (I know her name but I wouldn't want to get her in trouble so no names will be used). She said they were hiring and I was so excited. She then showed me on-line the posting...wait it's gone. Oh no they've closed it already she told me. She said, you know what, I really like you and I'm going to get you in. Let's get creative...she had me apply for a construction job with the MUSD so then she'd get my application, resume, and letters of recommendation.
She then got my social and pulled up my information up and said oh you have everything! Okay here's a list of the other items you'll need to bring to the new hire orientation next week. I gave her a big bear hug. I really needed that.
I went to my orientation last week and filled out all the paperwork and the next orientation will be training after Christmas break and after that I can officially substitute K-12.
I'm sure I'll be updating my substitute experiences. Stay tuned...

Union Ward Christmas Party

To make a longer story short...I was the decorating committee. I decided to decorate the cultural hall in nativity silhouettes, twinkle lights, black and white linens, and nativity sets on each table.
I had small pictures of the silhouettes and drew them free hand and then cut them out and glued to the white paper. It took me about 15 hours. The one of Joseph and Mary took me 2.5 hours. I had to stay after church to draw and cut it because it was too big to do anywhere else.
This is how it turned out. I was very pleased and most grateful for those that I asked to help that came on a Saturday afternoon to help a sista out. (It's hard for me to ask for help but look...I did it :)

The bishopric stayed with our theme and dressed up as the Three Wise Men and passed out candy to the children. This is the Bishop.

Emergency Teaching Credential

It's official...The Sacramento California Office of Education has given me their approval...
I'm now able to substitute teach! If they were only hiring...

I've talked with San Joaquin and Stanislaus county education offices and they aren't hiring for subs right now. They told me to check back in Dec or Jan.

My next move is to check in with Sacramento county office. Vamos a ver!

Argh...I'm really having to use my killer talent of patience right now and just breathe! I want this so bad it's hard to take it one day at a time but how I'm reminded...I'm not in control.

Whoops!

I've been instructed by my therapist to take more baths.
Calm is the focus here. :)

This morning I started running my bath water and thought I'll load up the bikes in my Jeep that I need to deliver to schools today. I loaded the four bikes up. Then I saw my garage floor needed sweeping. I swept it. Then I noticed some Christmas decorations to put up outside. I started to set up my exterior Christmas trees. Then...oh my stars my bath!!!!

I don't think I've ever ran that fast, EVER! I was relieved when I got to the hall and saw no water, turned the corner to my bedroom, relieved to see no water, then turned into my master bathroom and this was the water level when I ran in. PHEW!!! My second thought was oooo how much is this going to cost me? Manteca water use is really expensive.
Obviously I had to wait for the overflow to drain the pool, I mean bathtub. So, I finished setting up the trees outside. Came in and it had drained far enough down but when I got in...luke warm. To say the least that did not make me too calm. I'll try again...
