Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Here's the deal...about year ago Andrew Loper invited me to watch a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) over at some of his friends place. When we first began to watch I didn't know if I would enjoy it or not since I HATE boxing. This has flare to it...must be the martial arts :) I really did like watching it.

This past Saturday there was the MMA Elite XC in Stockton. I've never actually been to a fight, just seen them on TV so I went to the box office that day and bought myself a ticket. I was a little nervous going by myself and not wearing a Tapout shirt or anything of that nature. I did wear a black t-shirt that was 686 (snowboarding line) but nobody knew what it was. Hehehehe It could have been a new MMA clothing line for all they knew.

I bought a more expensive ticket to make my first experience a good one and well let's be honest I didn't want to hang with those that were sitting in the $35 area. Good thing I didn't because there were three fights that I knew of during the fights and they were all in that area. Let's just say I was on the 7th row on the lower level. There were 10 fights that I watched. I got my fill. There is some sort of pride in Stockton. Holy Cow the crowd, and believe me there was a crowd, was chanting 209 (the area code here in the Central Valley) when Nick Diaz entered. Good thing he won or that would have been a slap in the face of 209.

Wakeboarding

I went wakeboarding with Larry, Jason and Kirk. The delta isn't so bad if your not just sitting on it so you actually catch a whiff. Stinky Delta!
We had fun although it did include a series of causalities...Larry twisted both ankles, I hit my face so hard a contact came out and I got a small bloody nose, and Kirk well he just got beat up...he's still learning. Jason was the only one that didn't damage his body in any way...LUCKY.
I hope I'll get to go again...I think I'll take out my contacts next time. :0)

Pulte Rafting Trip

Take a look at the folks that enjoyed a day on the river from Pulte Homes...we all look some much more relaxed and casual. I love it!
Then CREW!

It was so fun. We had five rafts with 6-7 people on each one, RAFT #5 was the best (mine of course). There was instructions, cliffs to jump off of, pass and splash and drinking that was involved (not me).

The water was so cold it really took your breath away and was hard to get back in the raft 'cause your muscles were so tensed up. I heart my co-workers!

My 35th Birthday

Turning 35 wasn't as bad as I thought. I did work that day and of course took in all the Happy Birthdays wishes and gifts and food.
Valerie, from work, bought me my bouquet of flowers and a gift certificate, THANKS VAL! My boss Ralph got my a gift certificate too and all the trades signed a card. Gotta love those trades!

Cute Melanie brought my strawberry tart to my work while I was doing a quality walk thru of a house. That was AWESOME, thanks Mel! I brought it back to the trailer to share with my co-workers. Yeah we gobbled it up real quick! She's a killer cook.

Later that evening my family came down and we went to Cocoro's for Sushi in Stockton. We had so much fun and the food as always was INCREDIBLE!!

Thanks everyone for making my birthday wonderful.

Just a few days ago some of my girlfriends and I went to John's Incredible Pizza in Modesto for some more birthday celebrations.

It involved all you can eat, arcade games, Dance Dance Revolution, glow in the dark golf, a spiny ride, and it ended with air hockey.
Thanks ladies!

The 4th of July

I had an incredible time in UT for the fourth! I'm so glad I went.
There are a few thing that I require in order for my fourth of July to be a hit...it involves a morning run, pool time, good food, and of course a killer fireworks show.
This is a pic of me after the Layton 5k.
Then Megan and her sister, Melanie, made us a awesome breakfast and then it was off to the pool. A bit of car time on our way. It was hot and humid. It even rained on us a little but we stuck it out for more than 2 full hours at the pool
I'm still waiting to get the rest of the pictures of the 4th from Megan Bates, that's right Megs, I'm calling you out on my blog!
The next day I met my long time friend Bryant Pettey and we went to Good Thymes for some good times for morning brunch. Afterwards I met up with Allison and Megan and we took a road trip to Bear Lake. Amazing! The water was so clear the people so nice and it was a perfect get away. We stood in line for about 30 min at this hamburger stand because all the locals said it was the best and welp...they were right. We love the guy in back of us, hello. While we waited in line we met the guys that were in front of us. They invited us to eat we them so we saddled up and hung out with three 21-year-olds. Justin, Alex and Darin it was a pleasure!
The next day it was time to enjoy the water and sun. This little Island Oasis was the talk of the day. While we were filling it up it died. It didn't get charged enough so Megan and I went to the stand at the marina and borrowed a foot pump and pumped it for about 45 min. We put it on top of the rental car and drove back to the beach with Megs and I holding it outside of our windows.
By the time we took it out on the water it was really windy and cold but for heaven's sake we put some blood, sweat and tears into it we stayed on for a good 20 min.
We were happy to deflate.

I STRUGGLE!!

Okay so it's been a few weeks since I lost my car so it's time that I do something dumb, I mean absent minded again...

I'm all packed...everything is in the car...my parking for the Bart station is all pre-paid for...I have all homeowner appointments taken care of...I'm set to go to UT.

Before I was on my way I decided that I would check in so I could go straight to check in my luggage and noticed that it had July 3rd on my ticket. What??? Darn good thing I didn't notice while I was at the airport or that could have been trouble. YIKES!

PS Justin just ended it with me. Are you kidding me??? Not ready to get serious and knows that's what I want.

Justin came to town

I'm in a super big hurry so you get the real quick note version...

Justin came in to town June 27th to SFO and was delayed due to all the fires. In the mean time he realized he left his wallet at home. If the flight wasn't delayed he wouldn't had been able to make his flight. (Yeah he made it)

Saturday we went to Santa Cruz and froze. Burrr! We walked down the Boardwalk, strolled on the beach, up the pier, and rode the Giant Dipper and the Skyline. LOVED!

Right before we head out we were watching some surfers and one got hit up again some rocks, knocked him out, cut his head open so big that he was face down lying in the water bleeding and breathing water. It was very traumatic! Justin yelled out to his surfer buddies and called 9-1-1.

Sunday we went to Sacramento. I dropped Sandy off to mom and dad's. We took bikes and rode along Lake Natoma, went swimming at Brent and Floyd's, ate at downtown Folsom. YUM!

Monday we got went to Woodbridge, ate In-N-Out and got pedis. Then back to the airport. Lots of driving...I felt really bad! We had a great time!
