Trip to the Mountians

I flew into Salt Lake City and went straight to the Bountiful temple. I had time to kill before I launched my attack surprise on my friend Megan. After the session I headed over to http://gardendayspaandsalon.com/, where Megs works as a hair dresser. I entered in and asked the receptionist if Megs was with a client. The gal took a gander for me and said she was with a client but was doing hair extensions. (Wanted to make sure she wasn't cutting someone's hair!) I slowly walked up to her, she did a double take, and asked what I was doing there. I commented I needed a bang trim :0) Hehehehe! The surprise was a success!! Thanks Audrey for helping out!!

Later that night we decided to hang out with her boyfriend and his friends which included a trip to Wendover, NV. We were on the fence but we negotiated and asked for $20 spending money a piece and cupcakes. They accepted...Jake you did good!

John sported the satin durag all night. What better place then Wendover for a trial run.

There was a lot of slot playing that night!

Even at the big slot!! We tried to fit three to the chair.

Of course we had to enjoy some good food at the Paradise Grill at 12:00am!

This is Jake and Megan's dog Sammy. She's chihuahua and dotson mix. I LOVE these ears!

Monday while Megs was at work I thought I'd go down memory lane, PROVO, UT.

This Krispy Kreme went up after we moved to Salt Lake but there were many nights that we'd pile up in a car and drive to Provo just for these dang doughnuts.

A few places that I lived with Megan and Audrey, King Henry and The Elms. It was so close to the "Y" but didn't really matter since the three of us didn't go. :)

A few places downtown that we ate at. Delish!!

The Provo Tabernacle that burned down that's now being reconstructed to be a temple. Cool!!

When I very first moved to Provo I didn't know a soul there. It was during the summer but I was able to become acquainted with BYU Creamery. The have the best chocolate shakes!

Burgers Supreme was often visited as well. They put In-N-Out to shame! You can't deny their fry sauce. I don't care who you are!!

I had to stop by the Missionary Training Center, place I worked for 18 months. Man o' man they've got that place on lock down. I mean barricades, security check in, the whole nine! No place to park to take a photo so I went and parked across the street and there were a whole lot of missionaries playing soccer (p-day). I'm sure looked a bit creepy. So I shimmed out of there real quick! The Provo Temple is open on Mondays, very cool.

I then drove to Clinton for my massage then headed over to Park City and hit the outlets. After Megan got off work we drove up to Idaho that night. There is a motel behind the gas station off of the exit Downey. Could be in a horror movie. If you're ever headed up there you must check it out after sundown.

We got to hang out with Audrey and the rest of the Muranakas for the next few days. Megan and I took the kids out for a joy ride. At the Idaho Falls Mall they have a Hurricane Simulator tank. Uhhh hello...you had me at Hurricane...It goes up to 78 miles an hour winds. I had to try it out so the boys could see it wasn't too scary. Then they were game! YES!!!

This is Mia and her frog hat. Adorable!! We were shopping at DownEast. Dawson is pretending to sleep for the picture and brother Cole is right behind him, hamming it up of course.

Observations in UT and ID: 1) The air is so crisp, I can't describe it any other way. A runner's dream! 2) I remember when I first moved to Utah I thought I would have a hard time with the mountains and feel claustrophobic but it was quite the opposite. I felt protected. It was the same feeling this trip as well. There is something majestic about those mountains! 3) Will they ever stop constructing on I-15? Oh my...driving through Lehi to Provo was insane and the snow hasn't even hit yet. Double YIKES! 4) The change of colors still leaves me in ahh. 5) The state of CA misses Hostess berry pies! 6) Rexburg is an adorable college town. 7) Long live Cafe Rio!!
