Usually on the weekends I'll wake up from Sandy jumping up and down on the side of my bed, dying to go for a run. I don't know why she likes it so much. She's usually struggling at the 2 mile and I then have to pull a dead horse the rest of our 5 mile run.
She is so out of control. I got a few shots of her this morning.
This was after she saw me put my running clothes on. She knew...

Poka Dots
I love poka dots. Good thing they are the trend right now. (I'm finally in style for once) Here are just a few purchases of "the dots". Now don't get nervous, I didn't just get all these at once. I've accumulated them over time.
Manteca in June
Just a short entry...I've said it before the benefits of living in a smaller town and being an American girl. Flag day! Four street were lined with American flags.
You know it's getting close when you see these popping up all over the place. Yahoo!!

Cafe Rio vs. Costa Vida
For those that have lived in UT at one time or another know of a place called Cafe Rio and if you don't, shame on you!!
This place has the very best pork salad on this earth!
What's nice is that there's another restaurant called Costa Vida that is VERY similar to Cafe Rio and they are more spread out geographically. As I learned tonight that there is a Costa Vida within driving distance, 90 miles, I made the drive for dinner. I was very excited to get there and compare. (I won't tell you how fast I was going on the 5). I ordered a small pork salad. Pros and Cons...Costa still gives you the large tortilla even if you get a small salad. Cafe gives you a very small tortilla. Costa always provides shredded lettuce, no special requests. However, Cafe Rio pork is a titch sweeter and their house dressing has more of a kick to it than Costa. Cafe Rio 5 stars and Costa Vida 4 stars.
Like I said before it was still worth the drive. Yes, I will return again!

Caution: Pictures of jacked up shoulder/back
I've had a lot of questions of how my back/shoulder is...
It's almost been 4 months since I obtained a virus in my nervous system which paralyzed some muscle groups in my shoulder/back. Funny there are somethings that I have no problem doing but others like a plank or doing a push up, I have ZERO strength for it. The best way to describe how it feels is a part of my muscle is absent. It doesn't hurt. It's like lifting dead weight.
This picture is lifting both arms straight in front of me. See that on the right, it almost looks like it's detached but I promise it's not. :) The doctors call it winging out.
The next two are pictures of raising my arm above my head. My right arm will only go so far up. Then I took one of my left so you have something to compare it to.
The last is as you can tell arms up and out. I think this looks the most normal but on the right it bulges out just a smig.
Looking at the pictures I think it looks much better than my pictures from the post in April. Maybe that's just my optimism talking...

Camping in PiPi
Thanks to Derek who gathered a few of us for a night of camping. It's in the El Dorado County but man alive it is out in no man's land. Well worth the drive. We got there just as the last of the sprinkles were heading out. Phew!
There are a few things that I've learned camping over the years.
1) Have a comfy lounge chair...You'll be spending a lot of time there.
2) I get cold easy and stay cold therefore thanks to Floyd and Brent for showing me how it's done...bring a down comforter. The air mattress is a no brainer, I'm over 30. This is a shot inside my tent. I actually got too warm that night and had to stick my arms out of the covers.
3) If you're going to eat s'mores you have to do it right!! Golden brown marshmallows are a must. The next step is important but 90% don't do this. You must, I repeat you must, melt your chocolate by the fire to really enjoy it. Trust me...it's worth the wait!!
4)Good games equals good times. Mexican Train anyone?
5) Last but not least, decent bug spray. My very favorite!
This place had a stream on the other side of the sites and a cute little walking trial with an amazing meadow. I heart nature!
